About
Almond Brief cuts down the reading needed to keep up with California almonds.
Why we do this
Almond growers, pest control advisers (PCAs), suppliers, researchers, managers and handlers don't all need the same news. Someone planning pollination needs orchard details. Someone selling the crop may need shipment figures. A general almond roundup makes both read through things they don't need.
Most of our work is deciding what to leave out.
What we cover
We look for changes in pollination, water, pests, orchard costs, harvest and almond sales. We post short updates as information comes in. The point is to tell you what changed and where it applies.
We start with almond crop and shipment reports, university orchard research, agency notices and water district updates. We also read trade and local news. Links in the articles take you to the reports and notices behind them.
Who runs it
Verdus Labs, Inc. owns Hectare Brief, which includes Almond Brief. We use software to find information and draft articles. We choose what gets published and are responsible for errors.
